During Advent, we asked schools across England and Wales to sing with Mission Together. The response has kept us rejoicing throughout Advent!

This year, Mission Together (Missio’s children’s branch) created some singalong carols for schools and children to use in liturgies, assemblies and more. And over Advent we invited schools to share their joyful singing with us, to spread a little Advent hope.

And we weren’t disappointed! Despite the busy schedule teachers always have in December, and the added difficulties of COVID-19 restrictions and absences, some wonderful schools still managed to pull out all the stops and send us some beautiful singing.

A huge thank you to all the schools who got involved. Here are some of the fantastic videos we received…

St Chad’s Primary in Birmingham Archdiocese sent us two gorgeous recordings – we loved their version of Go, Tell it On the Mountain.

Thank you, St Chad’s – we can’t stop singing along!

Sacred Heart Primary in Shrewsbury Diocese sent us several carols, including The First Nowell.

Sacred Heart, you are brilliant – thank you so much for your joyous singing!

We had several delightful versions of Silent Night, including this lovely one from St Dunstan Primary in Westminster Diocese.

Thank you, St Dunstan’s, for this beautiful rendition.

St Peter’s Primary in Birmingham added a heart-felt message to our global family onto their version of Silent Night!

Thank you so much, St Peter’s for the fantastic singing and the beautiful message.

One of our favourite Silent Night versions has to be this one from Joseph and his mum Rosie, who features in our Advent Calendar today. This special Makaton version stole our hearts. We loved Rosie’s outtakes too!

Thank you, Rosie and Joseph, for teaching us something new!

At Mission Together, we always emphasise that while children in England and Wales reach out with prayer and support to children overseas, those children overseas are also reaching out to them. So we are so happy to share these special carols from the school at Fundong Mission Station, which features in our Christmas Appeal this year. Thank you so much, Fundong Mission School for your wonderful singing.

If you enjoyed these carols, please consider supporting children in Fundong and around the world by keeping them in your prayers and donating to our Christmas Appeal here>>

A special thank you to all the teachers and staff who coordinated these recordings, and to our brilliant volunteer Genny R, for arranging and recording all of the singalong carols. You can find them all here>>
