Missio is excited to share opportunities to connect and reflect throughout the Season of Advent.

Last year saw most of us staying home for Advent, unable to connect with family, friends and community. While things are looking more hopeful this year, our online reflections and mission-focused online Advent Calendar are still a great way to connect, and we’re delighted to bring them back for another season. We’re looking forward to bringing our communities across England and Wales together in prayer.

Online livestreamed reflections

Starting on 26 November 2021 and taking place every Friday at 10:30am, the online reflections will be shared from the Missio chapel in Eccleston Square. Each week will feature a guest speaker who will be focusing on how Advent is celebrated around the world, whilst reflecting on the upcoming Sunday readings.

Supporters can join in by watching the livestream at www.YouTube.com/MissioUK and the reflections will be available to watch shortly after here.

We will be joined by the Missio National Director in England and Wales and Mill Hill Missionary (MHM)Fr Anthony Chantry in the first week (Friday 26 November, 10.30am), with other speakers to be confirmed.

We’ll put all the events and links on our events page, so you can find everything you need to join us in one place.

Online Advent Calendar

To complement these reflections, Missio has recreated our popular online Advent Calendar. With scripture, images, films, music, and prayers behind the digital doors, we hope it will guide supporters through this special season. Small daily actions are also included to highlight how supporters can pray for and help sustain the work of missionaries and the communities they serve around the world. The Advent Calendar doors will open on midnight of that day, from 1 December to Christmas Eve.
