In July, let us pray for the respect and protection of human life in all its stages, recognising that it is a gift from God.

‘We cannot build a just society if we discard the weakest – whether the child in the womb or the elderly in their frailty – for they are both gifts from God’ – Pope Leo XIV

How missionaries in Malawi are protecting and respecting the most vulnerable people

Missionaries serve the poorest and most vulnerable of our sisters and brothers by listening closely and deciding together how best to respond to the community’s needs. In Malawi, this meant building a health clinic, so mothers could give birth safely and children receive vital nutrition and vaccines in their early years. Sr Nilcéia says:

‘We are here to serve and have done much with the money you sent. Malawi’s healthcare system is very poor, but Missio gave us hope. Though we still worry about the future, we do not lose faith. We pray, trust in the Lord, and continue our work.  Never give up.’
