What joyful, colourful celebrations you shared with us yesterday, for our Day of Many Colours! Your pictures and messages kept us smiling all day long!
We want to say a huge ‘thank you’ to each and every pupil, teacher and helper who got involved in our special day yesterday. We loved seeing your posts, and could feel a rainbow of joyful prayers making its way around the world! Here are a few of our favourite posts and tweets.
Celebrating children in every continent
Based on the five colours of the Mission Rosary, the Day of Many Colours (#DOMC) encourages children to unite in prayer with their sisters and brothers on every continent: Africa, the Americas, Europe, Oceania, and Asia.
In England and Wales, the Day of Many Colours takes place on 29 June every year to coincide with the feast of two great missionaries, St Peter and St Paul. But children in every country where the Church is present celebrate this special day on different dates throughout the year.
Children helping children
St Helen’s Primary School in Barry shared these lovely pictures of their day of fundraising and prayer. We are so grateful for all your effort! Here’s a great tweet of the children proving once again that the best accessory to outfits of any colour is a big joyful smile!
St Joseph’s in Lancashire put so much work into finding out more about God’s global family – look at all those amazing ways to say ‘hello’!
Dressing the part
This dapper chap from Christ The King in Thornaby had a fantastic Mission Together tee for #DOMC. We loved the bright check suit he wore it with too!
Meanwhile St Joseph’s Primary in Middlesbrough also turned out in one of the five Mission Rosary colours, and formed this wonderful human Mission Rosary. Wonderful work, everyone!
St Bede’s in Northumberland also came dressed in all the colours of the rainbow to help represent the children of every continent. How joyful!
