Collecting ‘old’ pound coins
The ‘old’ pound coins stop being legal tender on 15 October, 2017.
Don’t fear! You can still exchange them at banks after that date.
But why not save up all the old £1 coins from your family – and any friends who visit – in the coming weeks and put them in your Red Box?
You could even try and have a dedicated Red Box at church to collect the £1 coins from throughout your parish which can then be counted and banked.
Did you know, a Red Box full of £1 coins adds up to a whopping £350?
Every £1 definitely counts!
