Missio is an instrument through which Catholics in England and Wales can support the training of future priests and sisters in mission dioceses all over the world. Missio also has a special, long-standing relationship with five seminaries in Kenya, India, Malawi, Nigeria and Sri Lanka. These seminaries offer the opportunity to sponsor the training of a future priest.

When you sponsor a seminarian, you are playing your part in helping God’s immense love to reach the furthest corners of the earth – transforming our world.

Dear Sponsor,

‘I give thanks to you, 0 Lord my God, with my whole heart, and I will glorify your name forever’ – Psalm 86:12

God, in his goodness, works through generous souls to reach those who are in need both spiritually and materially. I am truly blessed and deeply grateful to be a beneficiary of your generous support in my priestly formation at St John’s Regional Seminary, Hyderabad. Your kindness has become a visible sign of God’s love in my life.

St Paul states, ‘God loves a cheerful giver’ (2 Corinthians 9:7). Your generosity reflects the very spirit of this scripture verse; giving with joy, with faith, and even without personally knowing the one you support. I sincerely appreciate your self-sacrificing spirit, your prayers and your willingness to share from your heart so that I may continue my journey toward the sacred priesthood.

Your sponsorship has eased many of my burdens. It is helping me take care of essential needs such as my seminary studies, food and medical requirements, allowing me to focus wholeheartedly on my formation. Both your spiritual and financial support encourage me to use my time and talents for the common good of the community.

I am studying third year of theology, deeply engaged in studying Sacred Scripture, Dogmatic Theology and the moral teachings of the Church. With your support, I am able to study well, grow in my vocation and prepare myself diligently for the priestly ministry to which God is calling me. Your help strengthens me to be an effective member of the community and a devoted servant of God and his people.

It is a great blessing for me to have a sponsor who not only supports me but also prays for me. Please be assured of my heartfelt prayers for you and your family. When I stand at the altar of God, I will remember you with deep gratitude.

As St Paul continues, ‘May God bless you abundantly, so that in all things, at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work’ (2 Corinthians 9:8). May God reward your generosity and shower His choicest blessings upon you now and always.
