Dear friends,
We’re just about to embark on our journey towards Christmas as we begin on Sunday that wonderful Season of Advent – a time when we can reflect on the great mystery of the Incarnation: God becoming one of us so that he can demonstrate to us how much he loves us and wants to be part of our daily lives.
Through Advent, we reflect upon how effective we are as missionaries: as witnesses to Jesus Christ. That’s the penitential aspect: turning back to God and discovering how best we can serve him.
Please pray for the Holy Father, who embarks today on his journey to Turkey and Lebanon. It will be a pilgrimage of peace and hope.
Advent is a time of hope – for we hope for a better world; a world we are prepared to work for through prayer and action.
You can take daily actions throughout Advent – small moments of prayer, reflection, connection and giving which we hope will shape and inform your journey – through our Advent Minute Missions.
I wish you a very happy and fruitful Advent. May God bless you all!
