The Red Box continues to inspire

A few weeks ago, our Shrewsbury Diocesan Director, Fr Tony Grace, explained how the Red Box helps those living in poverty overseas to his young altar server, 7-year-old Violet.

Encouraged to hear that she could make a real difference, Violet asked Fr Tony for her own Red Box.

We are delighted to post a recent update from our enthusiastic young supporter. It seems Violet’s missionary efforts are influencing other family members too!

I’ve been raising money for my second Red Box. My brother and I put half of our money box contents in because my brother has been learning about Africa and he wanted to help the children.
During Lent, my nanny gave us the money she would have spent on cakes and biscuits.
I was amazed when Father Tony told me to look under my Red Box to find my total, an amazing £17.69!
We’ve now started collecting our third box.

Well done Violet and thank you to you and your family for helping our sisters and brothers overseas!

Maybe you have a young supporter in your family or parish? If so we’d love to hear about them. Email info@missio.org.uk to tell us more.
