Join the Missio family!

We rely on our amazing volunteers to further the work of mission. Missionaries around the world couldn’t do what they do without people like you.

Our volunteers bring the Missio family together, sharing the work of missionaries overseas, encouraging people to pray and fundraise, collecting Red Boxes and delivering our Mission Today magazine or helping to build our online community.

If you have a heart for mission, a bit of energy and a few hours a week to spare, we’d love to hear from you!

Fired up but don’t know where to start?

Don’t worry.  We’ll give you all the training you need before you start and keep supporting you throughout your volunteering journey. After all, when you join our team of volunteers, you become part of the worldwide Missio family – and that’s what families do!

Together we can ignite God’s love

There are lots of different ways to become involved as a volunteer and you can choose depending on how much time you have and what your calling is. At every level, we will always support and guide you and be there to answer any questions.

Recruit volunteers in your parish

If you are a Parish Priest, you may wish to recruit a dedicated Local Secretary in your parish.

90 years of Red Box Volunteers!

Missio and the Mill Hill Missionaries are celebrating 90 years of the Red Box this year – 90 years of working together to share God’s love with everyone, everywhere!

When Missio and the Mill Hill Missionaries began their partnership, no one could have imagined how charitable giving would evolve. The simple Red Box collecting coins to support the Church’s worldwide mission, became a powerful symbol of shared faith and love. On Volunteers’ Week, Fr Gerry Hastie – the Vicar General of the Mill Hill Missionaries – has this special message for all the people who give their time to make mission possible through the Red Box.

About Missio, Mill Hill and the APF

You may be more familiar with the names ‘Mill Hill’ and ‘APF’ than the name ‘Missio’, although if you have a newer Red Box you’ll know our logo. Here’s how it works:

Donations through the Red Box are shared 60/40 between Missio and the Mill Hill Missionaries. Missio’s share supports the spread of the Gospel overseas and enables faith communities to grow and flourish. This is the work begun by Blessed Pauline Jaricot in 1822. You can find out more about this inspiring laywoman’s work and legacy here>>

The Mill Hill Missionaries’ share supports the formation and training of its future missionaries and supports Mill Hill parishes that are most in need.

You can find a more complete picture of how Missio works on our About Us page.
