For 90 years, the Red Box has been a symbol of love. It is a reminder that God is working through the hundreds of thousands of missionaries living within communities from Malawi to Myanmar, and Pakistan to Peru.
Just think for a moment about all of those missionaries – priests, religious sisters and brothers and lay people – who have been supported through the Red Box. It is truly amazing! Through your support of the Red Box, through your prayers and through the money you put into it – or contribute via Direct Debit or online – you have transformed lives, shared God’s love, brought hope and ignited faith all over the world.
You are enabling people in some of the most remote places to truly experience God’s love. Thanks to your support of the Red Box, people can gather together with a priest for Sunday Mass in the shade of a baobab tree in Uganda; a child is able to attend school in Sri Lanka; and the sick can receive the Sacraments in their isolated village in Cambodia.
We’ve done a lot together!
During this 90th anniversary year, whenever you see your Red Box, why not offer a prayer of gratitude in thanksgiving for all of those missionaries bringing hope to our world? And remember that you – and your fellow Red Box holders – are missionaries, too!
A symbol of love
Ninety years ago, when Missio and the Mill Hill Missionaries began their partnership, no one could have imagined how charitable giving would evolve. The simple Red Box, collecting coins to support the Church’s worldwide mission, became a powerful symbol of shared faith and love. Today, it continues to raise hundreds of thousands of pounds and is a beautiful reminder that, together, we can achieve so much more.
While fewer people carry cash today, there are many ways to give, including Direct Debit, Standing Order or online donations. However you choose to support, you remain part of the Red Box family and we are deeply grateful.
