In the Catholic Church, October has long been associated with mission. The month starts with the feast of St Thérèse of Lisieux, patron of mission. It draws to a close with World Mission Sunday – a special day of prayer and global solidarity celebrated in all Catholic parishes around the world.

Thank you so much to all the schools who got in touch and shared their activities for Little Way Week with us! Here are just a few of the lovely and inspiring things you got up to.
Using an activity created by Mission Together, Missio’s children’s branch, pupils from Christ the King Catholic Primary, Thornaby, created a wonderful Bouquet of Kindness. Each decorated flower contained examples of how pupils could practice kindness each day.
As we celebrate Little Way Week, Year 4 have created a bouquet of kindness, inspired by all the ways in which St Thérèse helped those around her @MissioUK @RCSalfordEd #MissionTogether pic.twitter.com/O0P0KAP9bB

At St Edwards RC Primary, Oldham, members of the pupil chaplaincy team introduced St Thérèse to younger pupils. They helped them think of little ways they could follow her example. What a great way to share her message with everyone!
Be like St. Therese of Lisieux and her little acts of kindness. Our pupil chaplains have been busy helping our KS1 children think of little ways they could show kindness. #littlewayweek pic.twitter.com/JnMTOhtICD

Meanwhile, Holy Spirit Catholic Primary in St Helen’s sent us this lovely video of the children saying the Mission Together prayer:
Little Way Week is inspired by St Thérèsa of Liseux – patron of mission. Today, we thought about how we could show #Kindness to change the world just like she did. We shared this special prayer together 🙏🏼💙🕊 #SchoolValue #LittleWayWeek #Rainforest @MissioUK @PicCatholic pic.twitter.com/U7XX3E6zVc

…and Holy Souls Catholic Primary in Acock’s Green spent time learning about St Thérèse in a special assembly.
We loved hearing how these pupils from St Patrick’s RC Primary in Thornaby volunteered to help the kitchen staff prepare dinner:
These three boys are wonderful examples of following St Therese’s way. This morning they voluntarily gave up their own time to help our kitchen staff. Small acts of love making a big difference #littlewayweek pic.twitter.com/VIhmiMqltC

Well done, guys, that’s kindness in action!
We’re here to help you learn and grow!
To support schools as they continue to journey through Mission Month, Mission Together has created several assemblies, activities, prayers, and a classroom calendar with daily tasks and ideas. We hope these will help pupils and staff share the love and message of Christ in their communities, country and world.

Mission Together’s aim is two-fold; to support the mission of Catholic education, and to support invaluable children’s projects in places of poverty and turmoil. We offer our curriculum-friendly resources free of charge; in return we do ask schools to stand with us through prayer, and when possible through fundraising and donations.

We’re so grateful for the efforts of those incredibly busy teachers and staff in sharing our message with your schools. So much of what we do – especially getting our message to a wider audience – is only possible with your help and support.
- You can also help us simply by sharing news of our resources in person and on social media. Recommendations by teachers, staff and also our friends in the diocesan education departments are so appreciated! If you like what you see, please do spread the word. Twitter
