A few more springtime fundraisers
Take a hike: we’re all a bit limited at the moment in what we can do. But walking is free, and spring is here! Whether you do a day’s long hike or pledge a certain number of miles over the whole of Lent, gather your sponsors and make every step count!
Sponsored give something up: give something up for Lent and either donate the money you save or get sponsored to do it.
Egg hunt: hide small chocolate eggs around your church, school or playground. Charge families to join in for a massive Easter egg hunt! Why not ask parishioners or local businesses to donate the eggs?
- Lockdown Alternative: ask households and businesses to display a coloured egg picture in their window. Provide downloadable maps for a small donation so people can follow an outdoor trail around their neighbourhood, ticking off the eggs as they find them.

Easter bonnet competition: Charge an entry fee and award prizes for the most fabulous fashionista creations! Egg painting, Easter gardens or Easter cake designs are also great ideas. Sell them after for extra fundraising.
- Lockdown alternative: If you can’t meet in person, ask competitors to take a snapshot and post it to your parish page or twitter account with a designated hashtag. Don’t forget to tag @MissioUK too!
Spring flower sale: Pot some spring bulbs – snowdrops, mini daffodils, crocuses and hyacinths to sell as Easter gifts.
