Father Vincent Mwakhwawa, the former National Director of Missio in Malawi, was recently appointed by the Holy Father as Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Lilongwe. He sent us joyful greetings and news of a recent visit to St Theresa’s parish, Changala Outstation in Malawi.

Bishop Vincent recently sent these videos of the warm welcome he received at St Theresa’s,  and the offertory procession during Mass, to share with you. In his note he said:

‘Our people are generous within their poverty’

Building the future of our Church – in each and every mission diocese

Missio supports the training of over 25,000 future Priests and 11,000 Religious Sisters every year by providing young churches in developing countries with funding to train their own future Church leaders.

Throughout his life, Bishop Vincent himself was supported by Missio, and has particularly expressed his profound gratitude to those who supported him in his journey to priesthood. One very special person he gives thanks for is Teresa Gleeson of Bury St Edmunds, who sponsored his seminary training through Missio, and prayed for him during his formation.

You can read their story in recent Mission Today magazine, and find out how you, too, can help Missio to train the Priests of tomorrow here>>
